children’s book each week while exploring the elements of the story through

Dramatic Imagination – In Use!
Young children feel alive with the power and magic of their imagination.
Designed for the younger child, this workshop will focus on creative
movement, voice and expression through fun theatrical games and activities
to explore and develop this imaginary world. The final class will
bring imagination to life in a mini theater performance for all to

Act out!
Designed for the budding actor, this workshop will focus on learning
the basic techniques of stage acting including creative use of the
body, voice, imagination and improvisational technique, while giving
students a working knowledge of basic acting theory. The final class

Go Up Stage!
Designed for the 9-11 year old student, this workshop focuses on expanding
and then creating with imagination. Enjoy improv and creative story-telling
while learning about body awareness, sense of space on stage and how
to work as a group. The final class will be an improvisational theater
performance piece for friends and family. Bring a snack. (8 classes)

Stage Left, Right and Center!
Designed for the serious actor, this workshop focuses on three dramatic
areas: Physical Acting, Improvisation, Audition. Physical Acting:
Learn prat falls, fake fighting, stage slap techniques seen on screen.
Improvisation: Think creatively, build team work and confidence, and
learn how to project. Audition: Learn how to audition, select a good
audition piece, and present a monologue that could get you the part. Older
students are encouraged to take this workshop along with Take Center
Stage for a solid dramatic foundation. Bring a snack. (8 classes)

Take Center Stage
Designed for the older student ready to pursue a dramatic course, this
workshop is packed with dramatic learning. Theater monologue techniques,
interactive scene work, IMPROV, and audition tips all in a fun interactive
format! Builds self confidence while teaching great theater skills.
The final class consists of a performance piece with scenes and monologues.

Move My Character
Your child will engage theatrical inventiveness with unique movement
expression. Class designed to establish & develop a resource
of aesthetic and dynamic movement qualities and tools that will enhance
the presence of an actor's character on stage. We will build upon a
solid foundation of body awareness explored
through locomotive shapes and static positions. In exploring one’s own
imagination, children will move their bodies in ways that will surprise
themselves. There will be a chance to perform for friends and family

Theater Technician Workshop
Have you ever wondered how the magic of theater is created? Now
is your chance to join the backstage theater crew of SCCT and help bring
the shows to life! This class will teach all aspects of putting on a production
with special emphasis on the technical and stage crew responsibilities.
We will cover theater terminology, stage management and set construction,
lighting, sound, safety and more. This class culminates with an opportunity
to participate in the SCCT production of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." No
