Mulan JR. – SCSD School Musical

Performances January 17-21, 2018

CAST

Thank you to everyone for auditioning for the 2017-18 SCSD Production of Mulan!  Daina, Susie, Tess, Jill, Taylor, and Eron enjoyed seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones as well.   We want to allow all our actors the chance to create a well rounded character, work as a team, and experience the feeling of being on stage whether it’s their first time being in a production or not.  The show will have 3 company or group numbers, and during the rehearsal process we will be filling other roles such as extra Huns,  extra Chinese Soldiers, and Maidens.  This will be a nice chance to develop ones acting through song and dance even if you don’t have as many lines as you would have liked.   When reviewing the part you are given do not base its importance on the number of lines you are given but on your ability to create a dynamic character. Every part in this play is needed to make this show a success!    No matter what part you received we encourage you to continue to build your skills through classes, camps, workshops, and auditioning for future shows. Here’s to another exciting theatrical adventure!  For more information on the show: Publisher

SYNOPSIS

Based on Disney’s Oscar-nominated film, Disney’s Mulan JR. is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and the fighting spirit. With hit songs and a story packed with action, humor and heart, Disney’s Mulan JR. brings ancient China to life with a modern sensibility. The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous dragon sidekick, Mushu, to save the Emperor! Defying the village matchmaker, Mulan takes up arms and disguises herself as a boy in order to spare her father from having to serve in the army. As the great battle with the Huns approaches, Mulan must choose between revealing her true identity as a girl or saving all of China with her clever plan.
